Our Beliefs
What We Believe about God, His Word, and the Gospel
- God - One true God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus Christ - Fully God and fully man, who died for our sins and rose again.
- The Holy Spirit - God's Spirit who convicts, guides, empowers, and works in believers.
- The Bible - God's inspired Word and our authority for faith and life.
- Humanity & Sin - Every person is created in God's image, yet all have sinned and need salvation.
- Salvation - God offers salvation freely through Jesus Christ, received through repentance and faith.
- Free Will - God calls everyone to salvation, and people are responsible to respond to His grace.
- The Church - A local body of believers called to worship God, grow in Christ, serve one another, and share the Gospel.
- Baptism & the Lord's Supper - Biblical practices that point us in Christ, serve one another, and share the Gospel.
- Christ's Return - Jesus will return, the dead will be raised, and God will bring His purposes to completion.
- Missions - We believe the Gospel is for every person, in Smithville and around the world.
